Executive LLM Program

TWO WORLD-CLASS UNIVERSITIES, Korea University and Washington University in St. Louis, invite experienced attorneys, judges, and government officials to apply to the Executive Master of Laws (LLM) Program. If you have your first degree in law, or are a licensed attorney, and are interested in increasing your knowledge of United States law, the Executive LLM is designed for you. The highly intensive, 12-week program is for practicing attorneys with three or more years of experience, including judges and government officials. Graduates of the Executive LLM Program who hold a first law degree from their home country are eligible to apply to sit for
the New York bar examination.

CURRICULUM The Executive LLM is carefully designed to offer students a thorough grounding in U.S. business law and business-oriented topics. In preparation for this intensive program, you can take two courses at Korea University in the spring prior to your arrival in St. Louis: Introduction to U.S. Law and Surviving the LLM. Intellectual Property and Antitrust Law will be co-taught by Korea University and Washington University law faculty. You must earn 20 credits in St. Louis to earn the LLM degree.
Housing
Participants will be housed in single rooms in dormitories on campus and will be given swipe cards valid for three meals per day for the 12 weeks of the program. While taking advantage of on-campus housing, guests will have easy access to the MetroLink light rail system, an outdoor swimming pool, and workout facilities at a nomi-nal fee. Free in-room telephone and Internet are just a few of the other amenities offered.
Admissions
The Executive LLM Program is designed for legal practitioners with three or more years of experience who are either licensed or who have earned the basic law degree from their home country. Candidates must possess a TOEFL score of 100 ibt. The law school’s TOEFL code is “WU 6929 Law 03.” Applicants also must submit a résumé, a personal statement, and original transcripts plus the Executive LLM application form. The Admissions Committee is composed of professors from both Korea University and Washington University.

Costs
Living Costs for the 12-week program include single dorm room accommodations and 3 meals per day on campus. The application fee is $100 and is non-refundable.

Total Cost $47,238
Students will cover their own health insurance and transportation costs and will be responsible for the cost of textbooks for the Executive LLM Program.
Cancellation Policy
Washington University and Korea University reserve the right to cancel the program up to 30 days before the first day of class. Credits earned in the Executive LLM Program are not transferable to Washington University’s JD Program.
